EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION -DAY 2
Facilitator: Reverend Dr.Freeman Osei-Tete
Dr. Freeman Osei-Tete is an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God (Ghana). He is the Regional Youth Director for Accra-West. He is the Senior Pastor in charge of the More Than Conquerors branch of the Assemblies of God, off the Santa Maria road, Auntie Aku, Accra. Rev. Dr. Osei-Tete holds a Certificate and a Diploma in Theology, both from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Saltpond. He holds a Bachelor’s degree, Master of Public Administration, Master of Philosophy and a Ph.D., all from the University of Ghana, Legon.
He quickly picked up on the
night with a quote on:" if you do the same old thing the same way, you're
likely to get the same results. If you don't like something change it" - Alfred Noble.
He went on to say that you may try and do adapt to changes as an avenue to improve and invest in yourself and wherever
you find yourself . Change on its own has been cycled through some faces some
of which involve:
1 Paper certificate to
personal development
2 Moving away from promotion
based on years to performance centered.
3. Moving from hard work to SMART results.
He gave a brief insight on generation-
as a timeframe in which beliefs, systems, interest and opinions change
significantly. 2Peter 1:5, Proverbs 24:3 “Anytime you can comprehend, you
understand. Wisdom is the application of knowledge. If you receive knowledge and
don't understand it's as bad as not receiving it well” he added.
Edu-
Application of knowledge
ceré-
Application of character
He made some key derivatives
to the topic and thus gave compounding pointers to further support the ideology
as follows:
#
Potential
“Know what you can do, and yet to accomplish." You're your own kind and have to know you're unique and
marvelously created by God”.
He said God has deposited so
much in you. You need to invest much more
in yourself. Our potential comes in a seed form. "If we look at yourself
now, you might write yourself off. God wants us to think-
Philippians 4:13 Genesis 1:28
2#
Planning
“God has a plan for you but
does not plan for you"
Every plan needs a vision. And
as such made it clear that a mission is a reason for existence and vision has
to do with the mental image of a desired future. Vision is for the mind, sight
is for the eye, Sight is limited to what you see, vision ought to be, Sight
lives by observation, vision is by faith,Habakuk 2:2,3 states out the
characteristics of Vision that;
1.
Vision defines your life
2.
Controls your choices
3.
Clarifies your purpose.
4.
Vision attracts resources
3#Persistence
“Where there's the will,
there's the way”.
If the heart is willing, there is a lot you can achieve but where the heart is not willing. Excuses is the order of the day and productivity will be zero.
He gave some Examples of
Persistence as ;
Luke 18:2- the woman and the
King
Mark 5:25-34; the woman and
the issue of blood.
#
No matter the situation, check how you react.
Someone may have determine
the first 20years of your life but for the next 20years, you're to determine
how you'd want your life to be- Pastor Mensah Otabil

People
Be very careful about the
people around you he added last but not the least on his delivery on the
night given that . It's important to
look around the kind of persons you have around you and be very careful how you
handle people. (Don't practice prejudice he added conclusively.)
The night on its own had the
swing of time at it’s very leaping best as an hour looked like minutes not
discounting to the key information and empowerment been given to all and sundry
present and likewise it was hinted by the senior Pastor and host Rev. Anthony
Doeh to always take with high importance every information received but keen to
bring to bear that these information are also to deliver growth spiritually as
well.
The most useful people are
the ones who know how to get along with others.
# Avoid relationship
1* By chance
2* By Crisis
3* By convience
