Ghana coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor and his backroom staff are expected to be sacked after a meeting by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] on Friday, September 10.

The leadership of the country's football governing body will vote to decide on the future of the 47-year-old as the head coach of the senior national team of Ghana.

The Executive Council of the FA will hold discussions on the Black Stars performances in the two matches tomorrow and the future of the former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko gaffer has been tabled as an agenda which will give members the chance to deliberate on the matter.

The recent performances of the Black Stars has also called for the immediate attention of the Ghana Football Association Executive Council to hold a meeting



Private conversations of Black Stars players with some management which confirms that they have no confidence in the coach will also come to the fore of the discussions.

Furious Ghanaian football fans started calling for the sack of the former national skipper after the Black Stars awful display in the World Cup qualifiers just recently.

Ghana sit second after two matches in Group G with three points, losing to South Africa in Johannesburg having already edged out the Walia Ibexes of Ethiopia in Cape Coast.

Ghana will continue their search for a place at the 2022 World Cup by playing double-header qualifiers against Zimbabwe next month.
